Where your data starts and stops.

Key in Keychain, issues on your Mac, traffic only to Linear's API.

Keychain

Your API key stays in macOS Keychain.

Local cache

Issue snapshots stay on this Mac.

Official API

The only network connection is Linear's API.

Ask first. Download after.

Is Clipissue free?

Yes. It solves a small problem, and it intends to stay small.

What account do I need?

Your own Linear API key (create one at linear.app/settings/account/security). Clipissue reads your workspace as you, so you see exactly what Linear shows you.

What does Clipissue read and write?

It reads open issues in the projects you pick: titles, descriptions, workflow states, and sub-issues. It writes back only the state changes you make and the issues you create.

How does my agent fit in?

Copy the issue ID and paste it into your agent — Claude Code, Codex, anything. With Linear's official MCP or the companion Clipissue CLI & skills, the agent reads the details and writes progress back into the issue: status, comments, sub-issues. The issue becomes project-level memory that outlives any single conversation or harness.

Where does my data live?

Your API key is stored in the macOS Keychain and issues are cached locally. The only network connection is Linear's official GraphQL API.

Which macOS version is required?

macOS 14 or later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel.

Keep Linear for the work.
Keep Clipissue for the glance.

Free, native, and ready whenever the next issue needs a glance.
